THE LAW OF FIRST OCCURRENCE

There were also five clear financially-related issues of first mention in the life of our dearest Lord Jesus.
They go to confirm that, our King Jesus does not frown on economics. Actually, pleasing God in money matters is of prime concern to Him. I will simply enumerate these five financial affairs of first mention in Jesus’ life, for your meditative-pleasure.

The first thing Jesus was supernaturally anointed to attract or receive was gold, from the life-long savings of reputed wise and rich men. This was when He was only about two years old – Matt. 2:11.

May you receive this grace of Jesus to attract and not repel riches! Amen!

The first of the anointing Jesus declared was on Him was one to break the back of poverty, by preaching to the poor  – Lk. 4:18.

It takes an anointing to preach to poor people to help change their condition.
May you have the Kingdom-financial grace of Jesus, to help many people out of poverty, through the Kingdom words of Jesus Christ! May you not confirm and embalm people in poverty, but always say that there is a lifting up of the poor!

The first miracle (of Cana) that Jesus performed was to supply a physical need at a wedding – Jn. 2:11.

Obviously, the couples were broke, and could not procure additional wine. So, Jesus had to intervene to save them from embarrassment. This miracle was a prototype of all of Jesus’ miracles. ‘He gave the wedded couple extra wine to sell and make money’. He will do the same thing for you. He will not let people laugh at you.

Receive the grace of Jesus, to save people from social embarrassment; because poverty is an embarrassment, an affront and insult to God and humanity.

The first benefit that Jesus gave to His top apostles (Peter, James and John), was to supply their physical or financial need for fish abundantly – Lk. 5:9.
Your doing well is important to God as well. He wants to give you so much that, it would mean nothing to you.

Riches should not be a god to you, but a slave; just as the abundant fishes meant ‘nothing’ to Peter and his friends, because of the revelation they had of Jesus’ graciousness.

The first three recorded temptation of our dearest Jesus, included being tempted with the kingdoms of this world and the glory of them – Matt. 4:8.
This is because Satan knew that, Jesus was after them. Yes, He was after the kingdoms of this world and its glory, because it was usurped from mankind, in Eden. But, Jesus would not get them by worshiping Satan.

You will also be tempted with the finances of this world too. Receive His grace not to compromise yourself, your ideals, mind and assignment, for the monies of this whole world.

Apart from the Law of emphasis that we discussed in Chapter two, by the principle of first impression that we have just considered, I believe a clear picture of Jesus attitude to finances is emerging for you.

Yes, He wants you to ‘open up’ to know God’s mind about money, riches and wealth.
